How Often Should I Clean My Berber Carpet?

The technical name is Olefin carpet a material that is manmade with petroleum products and recycled plastic material.  They are formed in strands of optic fibers and looped over tightly to give that tight feel of Berber.  Good Quality of these types of carpets is, they do not wear as fast as a plush type of fiber, they repel most organic stains and they can match any color and textured pattern you can come up with.  On the other side, they are petroleum made, therefore, oily type stains such as lotions, and food oils tend to absorb into these types and became a spot.  They can easily from a dog's toenail or scratching can begin to pull loops and cause a loss of fiber.

As a professional cleaner, we also know that your home machines or store rented machines, do not have enough pressure or Vacuum lift to provide a proper cleaning.  You need a machine that at least reached 500 PSI and heated to at least 180 degrees to penetrate through the topical part of the fiber and thoroughly clean the fiber.  We use only truck-mounted equipment that exceeds the standard and we use topical sprays to break down the spots and provide a better cleaning.  In this picture, you can see the difference with the cleaning.

Also, we have other professional spotters that remove red stains, wine stains, rust stains and most of all Urine stains from Pets.  Note; using a store bought spot removal can cause more problems than solutions but, that's for another day. Until next time, Rugman out!
